The concept of Porirua College celebrating it's 40th Anniversary Reunion, was initially lead by Mike
Iafeta. He accidently stumbled across a website called "oldfriends".
He sighted a Message Board....and there she was: Margaret Smith.
Margaret posted a thread with the idea of having a School Reunion.
As time progressed, Mike followed this thread with great interest and anticipation.
So here we are.... a few months down the track from that day and the interest in a Porirua College 40th
Anniversary School Reunion has exceeded our expectations!!!
So to Margaret Smith, "Thank You, for starting the ball rolling!!!"
UPDATE: 2007
Due to other committments, Mike Iafeta decided to stand down from the Organising Committee in 2007, and
return to Australia.
However, ex PC student "Sala Nimarota" quickly stepped up to the plate.
Determined to see this event through, she began recruiting a new team of dedicated individuals.
On behalf of the new Reunion Committee & all attendees, we'd like to extend our gratitude
to Mike Iafeta....for his vision, enthusiasm and humour, in making this event a reality.
